Time Blocking with Focly

Goal

Reserve time for important work so tasks don’t compete for attention all day.

Step-by-step

Step 1 — Identify your 2–3 priority outcomes

  • Choose outcomes, not activities

    • Example: “Finish draft”, not “Work on draft”

Step 2 — Create blocks in your day

  • Add a Deep Work block for the biggest task

  • Add an admin block for messages, scheduling, and quick wins

  • Add buffers so reality doesn’t break your plan

Step 3 — Attach tasks to blocks

  • Put tasks inside the time blocks they belong to

  • Keep each block focused on one theme

Step 4 — Protect blocks

  • Use reminders to start on time

  • If a block is interrupted, move it—don’t delete it

Best practice

Time blocking works when you treat blocks as appointments with yourself.
