Time Blocking with Focly
Goal
Reserve time for important work so tasks don’t compete for attention all day.
Step-by-step
Step 1 — Identify your 2–3 priority outcomes
Choose outcomes, not activities
Example: “Finish draft”, not “Work on draft”
Step 2 — Create blocks in your day
Add a Deep Work block for the biggest task
Add an admin block for messages, scheduling, and quick wins
Add buffers so reality doesn’t break your plan
Step 3 — Attach tasks to blocks
Put tasks inside the time blocks they belong to
Keep each block focused on one theme
Step 4 — Protect blocks
Use reminders to start on time
If a block is interrupted, move it—don’t delete it
Best practice
Time blocking works when you treat blocks as appointments with yourself.
